We have been focusing on cooperation and being a family so today, after lunch and recess, we read, We Don't Eat Our Classmates. It was a funny take on empathy and self-discipline and just being there for each other.
After special, in Out of My Mind, Melody got an aide that helps to write and talk for her in class and she invited Rose to the aquarium with her. Although Rose said she had a good time, there was an encounter with Claire and Molly that is making Melody wonder if that is true. The fiction groups for Any Book Book Club worked with characters today so we discussed the character types in Out of My Mind (ex. protagonist, antagonist, etc.) The non-fiction group wrote down some interesting facts they found in their books. (D also told us a lot that he learned about elements!) As Scientists, today, we-Tanners and Lambrights-looked at Mars with an artistic eye and then created our own universe! In Math, 5th graders took their unit 1 assessment and in 4th we continued our work with multiplication and division.
Do you ever wonder what a school day in the life of your child looks like? Are you frustrated with the shoulder shrug you receive when asking about their day? Well, wonder no more! Read my daily blog so that you can ask more detailed questions and know more about your child's school life!
